VANDMILJØ RANDERS A/S

Baggrund

Vandmiljø Randers købte Flådestyring Basic og benytter især ”events” (hændelser), ”who was here” og personalarm.

LT ENERGY SERVICES

Background

LT Energy Services was founded in 2007 by a group of industry specialists and contractors with experience levels ranging from 10-50 years. They decided to organize a company that would provide rental services for job-site equipment such as power generators, communication stations, and crew living accommodations. It grew fast, quickly expanding its operations in Texas to Louisiana and Oklahoma. This includes an operating fleet of 68 service trucks and drivers, together with 275 high-value rental units.

The company’s goal is to make every worker’s onsite experience safe and comfortable, servicing sanitation centres, mobile offices and well operations, and using the founding team’s extensive experience to drive the company in an exciting direction forward.

„Our business structure involves lending expensive equipment to customers, and requires an element of trust that our assets are safe and sound. We pay anywhere between $10,000 – $200,000 for each of our rental units, so Fleet Complete really helps keep things efficient.“

– Chad Jackson

Challenge

Chad Jackson at LT Energy Services describes their situation: “Our business structure involves lending expensive equipment to customers, and requires an element of trust that our assets are safe and sound. We pay anywhere between $10,000 – $200,000 for each of our rental units, so Fleet Complete really helps keep things efficient.” This means that as equipment gets moved from site-to-site, keeping tabs on its location is very important for the management and the dispatchers to prevent losing all of the profit from their rental business model.

The industry is fast-paced and every repair or service call has an impact on their client’s experience. There were a lot of calls between the crew and the dispatch, complicating resource deployment and being overall time-consuming. This created a big need for a solution that could facilitate all operational and organizational efficiencies, especially with repair crews traveling great distances. For drivers’ safety and the company’s own liability, LT Energy needed a reliable tracking and reporting software that would make this process simple and accurate. Besides contacting the right crew for the right job, the company also needed to track factors that lead to extra costs, such as excessive speeding, affecting tire wear, inefficient routes and increased fuel usage.

The solution

According to Jackson, “Our experience in the industry paid off when we pro-actively implemented a simple tracking solution to effectively prevent loss. Fleet Complete was by far the best choice.” LT Energy installed Asset Trackers on each of their 275 units together with 53 Fleet Trackers for vehicles, creating near-real time visibility on all their high-value assets and the fleet.

Fleet Tracker MGS200 and Asset Tracker AT1000

With a simple installation and a rechargeable battery on each Fleet Complete Asset Tracker, the company is able to monitor every single one of the 275 rental-assets from one interface.

The 53-vehicle fleet gained solid operational efficiency and various economies of scale due to the integrated IoT platform, provided by the Fleet Tracker solution. It gives the ability to gather mission-critical data on all vehicles with insight into ignition status, speed, battery life, engine performance and other vehicle diagnostics.

„When customers rent our equipment they expect the best service. Sometimes technical difficulties arise and we get frustrated customers on the phone who need equipment fixed – fast. We need to get the right technician in the area who can go out there and do the right job.“

– Chad Jackson

Using Fleet Complete solutions also allowed LT Energy to streamline the communication between the drivers and the dispatchers to be able to deploy the right resources to the customer. “When customers rent our equipment, they expect the best service. Sometimes technical difficulties arise and we get frustrated customers on the phone who need equipment fixed fast. We need to get the right technician in the area, who can go out there and do the right job,” adds Jackson.

Full visibility on every vehicle and asset eliminated the need for a dispatcher to call-in with multiple workers at a time to find out where they are and how long it will take to get to the job site. With one glance at the screen, the dispatch team is able to locate the closest vehicle in the area and contact the right worker, saving time, travel expenses and increasing overall customer service.

Distance report

Additionally, every call involves paperwork required to complete administrative processes, job history logs, and payments. In cases of onsite septic system installations, TCEQ (Texas Commission on Environmental Quality) documents are required by law. Fleet Complete enables the most accurate record-keeping for the company to be audit-ready at all times.

Benefits

Fleet Complete allows companies, like LT Energy Services, with unique dispatching and tracking needs to adopt a comprehensive system that enables them to reach maximum business efficiency every day.

With an integrated IoT platform and an all-in-one solution, LT Energy now has full fleet visibility and asset tracking capabilities for onsite rentals. They are able to contact the right technician for the job, based on distance, workload, and job-type; whereas accurate data reporting simplifies meeting government regulations and brings economies of scale in fuel costs and vehicle maintenance.

„Now drivers know we can see what’s happening inside and outside of the vehicle at all times. They tend to drive with a little more care.“

– Chad Jackson

Moreover, LT Energy drivers often work alone and safety is a big concern for the company. Having near real-time visibility on every vehicle and its location caters higher safety for the drivers in case of an accident or any arising emergency. The management team has also noticed a positive change in driver behavior and vehicle use, with overall lower speeding and idling occurrences, higher route efficiency and decreased fuel consumption.

Our experience in the industry paid off when we pro-actively implemented a simple tracking solution to effectively prevent loss. Fleet Complete was by far the best choice.

METRO DELIVERY

Background

From modest beginnings of two employees, two trucks and a deep passion for delivering quality, dependable service, to today’s thriving courier service business, Metro Delivery features a comprehensive fleet of 47 delivery vehicles and support staff servicing the U.S. and Southern Ontario region. “Whatever you need, when you need it” is the slogan that drives Metro Delivery to success. Whether it’s bio-hazardous materials, food, live animals or industrial prototypes, the company has maintained a reputation for fast, efficient service.

According to Metro Delivery’s president and founder Sarah Talbot, the progressive company relies on technology to provide competitive and cost-effective overnight, same day and rush delivery services 365 days a year. This includes the use of specialized software technology for effective communication and optimum operational workflow between its dispatchers and drivers on the road.

„Delivering fast and quality customer service is important to us. Working within a more real-time technology environment helps to maintain this high standard,“

– John Rabideau , Manager

Challenge

To accommodate the growing volume of business, Metro Delivery wanted to improve its technology infrastructure. The previous infrastructure included legacy software applications for the company’s communication dispatch, reporting and billing requirements. As customer calls and orders intensified in numbers and frequency, dispatchers were becoming overwhelmed with call volumes. The company also wanted a better way to track and monitor its drivers to ensure productivity and enable dispatchers to efficiently plan delivery routes.

As Metro Delivery grew in size and stature, its outdated legacy solutions couldn’t scale fast enough to match the fast-moving pace of the business. “All communications had to be verbal, over telephone or two-way radio in the old system. Our dispatchers had to take the order, place it into the system and then the dispatcher would send it out via either two-way radio or cell phone,” says John Rabideau, Manager of Metro Delivery.

With an eye on boosting growth and exceeding customer demands, Metro Delivery was looking to adopt a cost-effective IoT solution that would help to streamline operations.

Solution

After conducting due diligence and carefully evaluating various industry software offerings, Metro Delivery turned to Fleet Complete as a leading global provider of mission critical operational solutions for mobile workforce and transportation-related companies. Today, Metro Delivery is using the Fleet Complete IoT platform to help streamline operations and boost staff productivity. “We worked with Metro Delivery to implement the Fleet Complete solutions, which they are now using, to help quickly automate the front office, back-end business, and courier processes. This includes online customer order entry, accounts receivable and real-time delivery tracking as well,” says Stephen Nesbitt, Sales Director for Fleet Complete.

Breadcrumb trail showing asset’s positions within 24h

The Fleet Complete Tracker is an IoT solution, specifically designed for the courier, messenger, expediting and distribution industries. Metro Delivery is also using the GPS capabilities of Fleet Complete, a real-time fleet management and tracking solution, to track and manage its drivers more effectively. Based on wireless two-way data technology, Metro Delivery dispatchers are able to send detailed delivery order information directly to a driver’s mobile device. From there, drivers can view and interact with the information on their device and keep dispatchers up to date by remotely updating the status of pickups and deliveries.

“Training on the Fleet Complete platform was fast and easy. Our mobile devices are also running the Java-based versions on the AT&T network, which has been working great for us from a connectivity and ease-of-use perspective,” says Rabideau.

Benefits

Today, Metro Delivery is using Fleet Complete Tracker to help reduce its annual operating costs. The company is benefitting from GPS-based technology, prompt and accurate payments, improved accuracy with sales data and increased on-time deliveries as drivers and dispatchers are able to send and receive delivery-based information in real-time.

Delivering fast and quality customer service is important to us. Working within a more real-time technology environment helps to maintain this high standard,
